One morning, I was lying in bed, half-awake, half-asleep, and I was praying, “God, what’s Your will for my life?” And He whispered, “My will for your life is your life.” He wasn’t talking about some distant plan or future goal. He was talking about right now. Then He said, “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. The only thing you have is this moment.”
How often do we miss that? We get so caught up — regretting the past, worrying about the future, hurrying from one thing to the next. But when we’re hurrying, we miss the blessing. When we’re worrying, we miss the wonder of what God is doing right now. And here’s the truth: Hurrying and worrying is self-imposed violence on your soul. We’re not designed to live in constant rush and anxiety. It wears us down, steals our peace, and pulls us away from God’s presence.
You see, God’s will isn’t a place you have to get to — it’s a posture you live in. It’s about showing up in the moment, fully present with Him and with others.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:34, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.” God isn’t waiting for you in yesterday’s regrets or tomorrow’s worries — that’s where the devil lives. God is here, in this moment. His grace is here. His presence is here. And His will is for you to be here.
When we align our thoughts and actions with Him — when we trust Him, when we obey His Word, when we love others — we’re walking in His will. Stop chasing tomorrow. Start choosing today. Because the present moment is where God’s purpose and your life intersect.
Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Not yesterday. Not tomorrow. Today.
Challenge:
So here’s what I want you to remember: Slow down. Be present. Trust God right now. Love right now. Because this moment is God’s will for your life.
